In the 1920's NZR trialled a steam powered railcar in a means of cutting cost. Could be driven from either end, had a small vertical boiler, seated 48 pax and lasted in service for 11yrs. This model, I got in a very unfinished state, it was striped, sandbalsted, new bits added, rewired, sound decoder fitted, interior lighting, new floor with seating and pax, lighting and crew, new roof, full flush glazing, new decals and paint. End result is a nice one off model. Hardest issue found was obtaining a steam electric railcar sound file which I did.
